Low Elevation Reservoirs 03-16-04
This system will ensure less drought and crop death

This system was concieved after being witness to all the runoff from snowy areas this last winter. It is now march and the sun is progressively melting the previously eight feet of snow. Much water is being released into rivers etc. but it seems to be mostly going to evaporation and drainage ditches.

Water is precious, and has been for centuries. With the booming population, more people means high demand for drinking water, as well as that for agriculture.

Water is already becoming an area of contention within the US. Many farmers and other concerned individuals have already begun to break small dams in ditches to keep thier crops from dying. One such incident occured in Oregon only a couple of years ago.

We are doomed as a society and as a people if we cannot manage out resources effectively, efficiently, and completely.

The term "overpopulation" is used by many5 to attempt to describe this phenomenon, however the fact is that is every individual on the face of the earth sought to waste nothing, there would be no shortages, and the population growth could continue unfettered by demand constraints.

I have designed many systems to this end, becasue I assure you that if drastic steps are not taken, it will not take to many years more to realize the grave error of our ways.

This is one such system. The piece of the control harnessed over our environment may seem emense, and indeed they are, but the project itself wouldn't be nearly as costly as some might percienve.

If you have never been to a reservoir, then you are truly missing out on some astonishing feats of engineering, and a large piece of American history.

Probably not many of you remember the good ol Bureau of Reclamation's exploits during the beggining of the last century, but most of you reap the benefits of it, or the fallout because of it every day. They built dams and reservoirs as well as canals, piping and a whole lot more for agricultural, industrial, and residential projects.

Without the opportunity to admire one of these tributes to the human potential, one wonders what could be so fantastic.
