In the prefered embodiment, this device is used to enforce a persons individual freedoms, not supress them

Too often these days people are involved in legal battles over what was said in the course of employment, or even in a simple conversation. People are concerned about the material that thier children are exposed to. Certain advertising is illegal and so on. This device lets the user choose what is tolerable, and what is not

Edited Reality

This device was concieved because I have three children. Much of the material which is on TV, or even on the radio, at thier young ages, they do not need to hear, yet they are old enough to be curious about adult topics that would jeapordize the innocence of their childhood.

I also contemplated the fact that there are many people who are offended by certain phrases used in common speech, that may refer to a group which they assosiate with negatively. Still others are concerned by material which is on thier TV which they would rather not see, yet the majority of the content which is being delivered cannot be done without.

All of these reasons are enough to push a new set of products onto the marketplace, especially when the importance of said reasons is considered.

The device, at the user level amounts to devices which could take a varity of shapes.

The first and simplest embodiment, would be in the form of small hearing aids, and contact lenses. The devices would respond to radio output from radio tags or thier counterparts, and edit as neccessary. For instance, an adult magazine which contains a radio tag constantly outputing information that it is not for certain age groups, will be "filtered" by the eye piece. The contact lenses would "blur" the images with simple electro magnetic stimulation within the visual spectrum.

As electronics become more advanced, these devices could be implanted in the eyes and in the ears. This embodiment however could lead to serious misuse. If for instance the devices were implanted at birth, with a specific set of commands, within a short number of generations certain words phrases and ideas could be completly obliterated from society. Buildings could be concield, and all sorts of mischief could be imagined. This device should always be programmed by the user, or the legal guardians of the user (be carefull that the legal guardian isn't big brother!)
