Jaded Perspective: Our Coveted Modern Conveniences

Jaded Persective

I would like to take a moment to make a note of appreciation to all of the wonderful inventions of our modern time that make daily life more bearable for all of us, coming from the point of view of a mother.

I often find my thoughts wandering to imagining what life was like for people in the past, even as recently as 100 years ago. We have got it so easy comparatively, and we should be thankful every time we use our modern conveniences.

Jaded Perspective: It's Time for a Boycott

Jaded Persective

When will the point come when societal manipulation will cause anyone to get off their fat asses and actually DO anything? How much is going to be enough? There is nothing wrong with grass roots political action, the problem comes along when we get to the word 'action'. Feeling helpless is not an excuse. Not knowing what to do is simply the easy way out, passing the buck and complaining. We are so conditioned to doing what we are told without question, we pay price -regardless if it is $2.50 for a gallon of gas or $5 for a gallon of milk! Fine, if you want to be told what to do, listen to me. And maybe unearth your own common sense.

 Jaded Perspective: Death by Java

Jaded Persective

How long has it been since your last cup of coffee? Are you drinking one right now? What would your grandma do if you told her she couldn't have her morning cup of coffee anymore? Is getting your java fix the 'best part of waking up', or the only reason to live? I propose that we make caffeine a controlled substance. Why not just for the fun of it, make it totally illegal. Consider the implications. This would make prohibition look like a day at the beach.

Jaded Perspective: George Washington, the felon?

Jaded Persective

Yes, George Washington was a felon. Or so he would be judged in the courts of today. No matter how hard the attempt is made to forget that our first president GREW hemp, the fact remains. And so did President Lincoln. The United States of America remains one of the last industrialized nations on Earth where growing hemp can result in a prison sentence, in some states it is even punishable by life in prison.

UPDATE!! Since this article was published, I discovered that Rense.com. has published articles about this same topic that are a MUST READ!

 Jaded Perspective: Wonderdrug

Jaded Persective

Would you believe that there is a drug that alone is so incredible that it erases wrinkles, heals scars, and extinguishes burns - and is available for $5 or less from your local health food store?

And that's not all...

 Jaded Perspective: Hail, Pagans!

Jaded Persective

Here we have it... another day used for an excuse to wallow in debauchery and consume deadly amounts of candy. "Here you are, my love, rot your teeth. " How truly romantic. "How about these beautiful thorny roses?" How very original. And disturbingly symbolic.

 Jaded Perspective: Fat Crackers?

Jaded PersectiveRemember the good ol' days when restaraunts would compete for your business by advertising "only six grams of fat" in their sandwiches, or "only fifteen grams of fat" in their burgers? Yes, remember when it was FAT that made you fat?
