Invention News: Project 1 being prototyped at the Lone Labs

The Invention News

A small and unique innovation is currently being prototyped. It has been labled "project 1" (For the benefit of the site) The device is somewhat small, it can fit in the palm of your hand, and most people have needed it many times throughout your life.

The device, is cheap to manufacturer and would yield significant retail value in many markets.

Invention News: University of Washington Engineers develop WLVA

The Invention News

WLVA or "wearable low vision aid" is a device being developed by University of Washington researchers.

The entire article about his device, and info about the researchers developing it can be found at the UW Daily Online

While browsing through topics related to my site in search of hot stories, I happened onto this one, and my eyes almost popped out! The device is very similar to my "cure for the blind"

I have contacted these gentlemen in the hopes of some colaboration between us. I am hopeful that I will hear back from them soon, and of course I'll keep you posted. (If that's alright with them that is...;)

Invention News: Fender contacts me about Guitar Products

The Invention News

Well, I've got some more good news!

Last Monday, 2-23-04 I recieved an e-mail from a paralegal/contact inside the Fender company that deals with new product submissions. They are very interested to hear about the products I have! I could not be more ecstatic!!

Remember the last post I made where I mentioned the phrases I had used to contact these companies, and I mentioned that in the voicemail message I left at Fender, I had included in my contact information my e-mail? Well, that's how this contact got in touch with me. Lesson for today, always leave every method of contact you have availiable to you in the hands of your prospective client.

I have long played Fender guitars, and have an old Fender "BandMaster" tube amp left to me by my grandfather long after he had past away. Beautiful tone but that aside...

I will not post the entire content of the e-mail, however I will tell you that the e-mail provided me an address to send a brief, and ambiguous product desription which would be reviewed by Fender's legal and marketing departments. If it passes these hurdles, they will send me a signed "Confidentiality Non-Disclosure Agreement" which will serve to protect my interests as well as thiers.

Is this great or what?

I will have my breifing ready to go and sent within the week (02-29-04)

I will post all communication that is relavent after this matter has been resolved, but I will continue to update this post with details as they unfold.

Invention News: I contacted Fender and Gibson about Guitar Products

The Invention News

Today, 02-10-04, I have contacted Fender and Gibson, about some guitar products that I have.

They are not yet posted here. When I do post them, I will add a link.

Here is the "shpeal" I used when calling both companies, and I was immidiately routed to the appropriate person within the company, that was able to address my query.

Mind you this is after they say "Hello, than you for calling X company" I say...

"Hello, my name is Steve Joslin, I am an inventor as well as a guitar player of twenty years. (all of which is of course true.) I have developed several products which I feel your company may be interested in, and I was wondering if you had a specific policy reguarding the submission of new products...

The answer was the same at both companies, "let me transfer you to this person", at which time I repeated verbatim the same speech. In Fenders case, to an answering machine, in which I included my contact information including my e-mail.
