Press Releases: General Patent Licenses Moen Patent to Bic USA

Press Releases

Suffern, NY (PRWEB) January 12, 2005 -- Moen Technologies LLC (Moen) has recently licensed U.S. Patent No. 5,864,604, directed to limited access communications over the internet, to Bic USA of Milford, CT. General Patent Corporation International (GPCI), a leading patent licensing and enforcement firm headquartered in Suffern, New York, represented Moen in this transaction. In addition to the ‘604 patent licensed by Bic USA, the Moen patent portfolio includes two related patents, directed to limited access telephone communications. The technologies covered by these three patents have particular application to advertising and promotional campaigns.

“We are pleased to extend a license under the ‘604 Patent to Bic USA,” said Alexander Poltorak, GPCI’s Chairman and CEO and co-inventor of the ‘604 Patent. “Bic USA values intellectual property rights, and came forward of its own accord to license this patent. To me, that says a lot about the quality of the IP management at this company.” Other companies that have recently licensed the Moen patents include The Coca Cola Company and PepsiCo, Inc.

Jaded Perspective: Our Coveted Modern Conveniences

Jaded Persective

I would like to take a moment to make a note of appreciation to all of the wonderful inventions of our modern time that make daily life more bearable for all of us, coming from the point of view of a mother.

I often find my thoughts wandering to imagining what life was like for people in the past, even as recently as 100 years ago. We have got it so easy comparatively, and we should be thankful every time we use our modern conveniences.

Market News: Marketing Genius - Kraft makes a brilliant decision

Market News

US foodmaker Kraft announced thier decision today to stop advertising thier junkfood products. This comes as a relief to many health food advocates, while delivering a devastating blow to the snack loving populace. This is however one of the brightest marketing moves in recent history.

Kraft gets away with it! Imagine, announce that you will no longer be advertising for a product, and you get more tv and radio advertisment time than you could have paid for in the last decade. Not to bad, but thier ingenuity runs deeper than that.

Interviews: Inventor of the Swaddleaze - Heather Allard

InventorViews

I recently read a press release about a company. 2Virtues started my a "Mom Inventor" named Heather Allard. She invented a product called the "Swaddleaze" which is used to help your very young child get to sleep at night. I contacted her to set up an interview, and she agreed. The interview was conducted via e-mail, and I just received it back today. The following is that interview.

TheLoneInventor: What's the story behind the Swaddleaze?

Heather Allard: My daughter Grace suffered terribly from the newborn startle reflex. She wasn't able to fall asleep or stay asleep because she'd just keep "startling". My husband and I tried everything--traditional swaddling, sleep sacks, etc. but NOTHING helped. I couldn't find any products in Babies-R-Us or BabyCenter.com that I thought would help. I would lie beside her and literally WATCH her startling/waking up. It was so frustrating--the normal sleep deprivation that comes with new parenthood is bad enough, but Grace was still startling/not sleeping at 4-5 months old!!!! I was desperate, and initially, I kind of joked about creating a "baby straight jacket" that would hold her arms down to keep them from flailing, startling & waking her up. Then one night, a lightbulb went off in my head, I took out a notebook and drew a very primitive sketch of what is now the Swaddleaze.

Press Releases: Creeper Sweeper - Clever Product is Long Overdue

Press Releases

An invention that's right up my alley! I'll tell you that I personally endorse this product, as it would have save this mechanic much time and headache.

Bob Butler, auto mechanic and inventor has invented a simple, and yet revolutionary device that will save many a mechanic the need for excessive profanity. I plan on purchasing a set of these myself when I find a store that carries them.
