Today, 02-10-04, I have contacted Fender and Gibson, about some guitar products that I have.
They are not yet posted here. When I do post them, I will add a link.
Here is the "shpeal" I used when calling both companies, and I was immidiately routed to the appropriate person within the company, that was able to address my query.
Mind you this is after they say "Hello, than you for calling X company" I say...
"Hello, my name is Steve Joslin, I am an inventor as well as a guitar player of twenty years. (all of which is of course true.) I have developed several products which I feel your company may be interested in, and I was wondering if you had a specific policy reguarding the submission of new products...
The answer was the same at both companies, "let me transfer you to this person", at which time I repeated verbatim the same speech. In Fenders case, to an answering machine, in which I included my contact information including my e-mail.
My contact at Gibson told me that they are "not taking outside solicitation right now" sound familiar? Sure does to me. Today though, I took that as a good sign because, I figure that if they won't produce it, they will sure as heck license it from me, that is if my discussion with the Fender company is no more productive.
I am still waiting for a call back from Fender, so that is also good news.
