The Lone News: Patents News Section Added

The Lone Inventor News

A Patents News section has been added to the site. You can now have your patents posted here in addition to whatever other marketing venues you are currently using.

Please do not consider this to be the only solution to posting your patents online. Consider using a dedicated service such as FreePatentAuction.Com which is also free. Every avenue the inventor can use to promote, promote, promote is a good avenue to pursue especially if it's the inventor's favorite price, free!

The Lone News: New Inventor's Resource - Byphar.Com

The Lone Inventor News

These are BYPHAR the most innovative solution to prototyping electronics I have ever seen.

Most inventors have a difficult time when it comes to putting together the electronic components of an invention. Byphar may just be the solution for you.

The Lone News: New Inventor's Resource - FreePatentAuction.Com

The Lone Inventor News

So you have a patent, and want to make a deal for it's sale or license... Where could you do such a thing, and for free no less? The answer? freepatentauction.com

This site allows inventors to post their patent free of charge, and you simply cannot beat that. I often get questions about some service sites offering to post a "your invention" type page, for pretty hefty fees. So far, I have been hesitant to recommend such services for several reasons, namely cost. Why pay so much per month, when you could do a lot more on your own and for less money?

 The Lone News: Inventor's Podcasts!

The Lone Inventor News

Inventor's PodCasts are now available here on the site! I'm very excited about this feature, and am really hopeful that it will turn into a very useful tool.

As you are probably aware, a podcast is simply an .mp3 file download with the associated RSS feeds. This means anyone with access to a Windows media player, Real Player, Winamp etc. can download audio files from the site.

I have setup a few initial categories for these podcast downloads. Currently there are General , Patents, Provisionals, and Inventing/Prototyping categories. These will of course grow over time.

The Lone News: Happy Birthday LoneInventor.Com

The Lone Inventor News

Yes, LoneInventor.Com is now 2 years old! It's hard to believe that just two short years ago this whole thing started, and it's growing so quickly I begin to loose track of time. It's come a long way from the ugly little lump of clay it used to be. It's still ugly, and lumpy, but some things are starting to take shape and form into a cohesive picture.

Let me try and recap on some of the events the site has gone through this last year. Since I missed out on getting a New Year's recap up, this will also serve as a year in review. It would be impossible for me to remember everything that has happened, as I haven't really been keeping careful track. I will put down as much as I can though. ;)

The Lone News: Access Inventor's News from your Mobile Phone

The Lone Inventor News

A new inventor's WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) has been added to the site. It can be found at wap.loneinventor.com Now if that doesn't come up for you, don't be too surprised, your browser most likely does not support that feature. Your web enabled mobile phone however should access the inventor's WAP url just fine.

If you would like to see how it works, but don't have a web enabled mobile phone, or simply want to check it out right away, you should try a WAP emulator, like the one located at wapsilon.com Click the "7210 WAP" radio button, and paste in the wap.loneinventor.com url. You will have to click through agreeing that wapsilon is not responsible for the WAP you are looking up, and then you should see the WAP in a small cell phone on the screen.

The Lone News: LoneInventor.Com In Outer Space!

The Lone Inventor News

The LoneInventor.Com site has been broadcasted in it's entirety into outer space via a large interstellar broadcast satellite dish. The site is now headed toward the outer most reaches of the final frontier. Pretty neat aye?

I saw this done over on The Inventor's Viewpoint Blog a couple of days ago, and thought it was a fantastic idea. We are now being transmitted into outer space... Forum posts and all. Beam it up!

The Lone News: An Inventor's Belated Happy Holiday Greetings

The Lone Inventor News

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Apologies are in order for the belated nature of the holiday greetings and well wishes.

Wow, time flies does it not? I have been buried in work lately, which is of course fantastic but time consuming. The site has been humming along, and now boasts over 250 members! Welcome to all the newcomers, and we hope you find the site useful to you

Some material to cover about the holiday images from Google. ;) After the alternate Halloween images were posted here, and on my blog I kept a watch on Google or their Thanksgiving images, which I have obtained.

Here's the official image:

Playing with the URLs again yielded these interesting results:

 The Lone News: Happy Halloween

The Lone Inventor News

To all of you that celebrate it, happy Halloween. I will not go into the interesting history of this holiday, but I will say I love seeing the interesting graphics that Google uses for the holidays don't you? Well here are a few images that you will not see on Google this halloween, but they are actual google images. This is the image that Google is officially displaying this halloween:

The Lone News: NEW! Inventor's Audio/Video Chat

The Lone Inventor News

Yes a newly added inventor's resource now calls this site home! We now have a fully featured inventor's audio and video chat online. This chat has been provided to us by Ian Gormanly who builds these flash chat components. He is currently working on a version that will support up to six live web cams, and the associated audio feeds.

If you want to get a chat like this for your site, please contact Ian through his site at http://www.dundeefastcar.co.uk/ Thanks Ian!

If you have a webcam and microphone, you can use these capabilities. If not, you can still use the conventional side of the chat, the old fashioned way. Typing, typing, and of course, more typing. ;)

This chat basically allows you a free video phone call anywhere in the world. This will mean some very exciting additions to the site indeed...
