 Jaded Perspective: Fat Crackers?

Jaded PersectiveRemember the good ol' days when restaraunts would compete for your business by advertising "only six grams of fat" in their sandwiches, or "only fifteen grams of fat" in their burgers? Yes, remember when it was FAT that made you fat?

And do you remember when complex carbohydrates provided the body with energy? Well, guess what...they still do.

Remember when the "food pyramid" suggested up to eleven servings of carbs a day? Now, don't tell me that something that has been taught in school for years could possibly be harmful misinformation! (Now, THAT is another story in and of itself, perhaps for another day...)

Low-carb candy. low-carb pizza, hamburgers without buns (double mayonnaise, please), and the kicker - low carb bread. Does anyone ever stop to wonder on this oxy moron? What is the point? We could just eat the cardboard left over from the cereal box from breakfast, but oh, thats right, no cereal, because it has too many CARBOHYDRATES!

Is it possible that this is simply a ploy to sell cookbooks? And memberships to weight loss clinics? And attack the pilars of the American snack cracker community and drive then to bankruptcy? (Kraft Nabisco, whom we all know and love, has recently been approved for acquire by Phillip Morris, as a direct result of decline in demand for their products and plant closures.) Read this to see the original article. I suppose that it is a fitting partnership, now that carbs are becoming like an expensive contraband.

This latest diet fad has the average bloated, sluggish, and nutrient-defficient American even more lethargic. Fools, trekking down another expensive, vanity ridden, logic deprived rocky road like the sheep being led by the Judas goat to the slaughter...
