Well, It did for me anyway.

I used to buy the crap that they feed you every night on the local and national news, but I soon realized that it's just that. Local and National news, and it's pretty poor at that.
When was the last time you heard about something important on the news? Have you EVER heard about anything life changing on the news? Not me.

You just sit there, Shocked staring at the TV through endless hours of mind numbing drivel, and for what? To find out a cat climbed up a pole, or the village idiot made good, bah!

Let me just enlighten you as to what I consider news:

Here are a few of the site I frequenly get NEWS from.

Rense.Com

just a few of today's (03-17-04) headlines from Rense:
Quote:
S Africa Woman Drove Off Bridge Killing 3 Hijackers

Bush Pardons Former Texas Mayor Convicted Of Bank Fraud

Filers - Life Once Existed On Mars

Another US Soldier Killed By Roadside Bomb In Iraq

Kuwait Bus Accident Injures 25 US Soldiers

Bird Flu Kills Hundreds Of Storks In Thailand

NASA - Two Large Comets Visible In Less Than 10 Weeks

Terrorism And The Fear Market

Sound fairly interesting don't they, this is the news.

Whitley Strieber's Unknown Country

Some of this months headlines:

Climate Change May Make Us Tiny
08-Feb-2004

We know that during major climate change events, warming ocean waters cause cracks in the ocean floor to open up and release large quantities of methane gas into the air. Methane is an extremely powerful greenhouse gas, which results in even more devastating heat retention and dramatic climate change. But now it turns out that methane causes even more problems than thought. During a great climate change event 55 million years ago, the excess of methane in the atmosphere had an unexpected side-effect. Large species--animals our size and larger--either died out or evolved into much smaller forms.

Bird Flu: What Happened Last Time
08-Feb-2004

A new form of bird flu, different from the Asian strain, has turned up in the U.S. As scientists worry that bird flu in Asia may have mutated and become contagious, they are looking at what happened in the past. In 1918, the worst flu epidemic in history killed 50,000,000 people worldwide, caused by a flu virus that jumped from birds to humans.

Fat is All in the Mind
08-Feb-2004

New research shows that our brains help make us fat, because they think of our obese bodies as normal, so they don't stop craving food. And there’s a country in the world where fat is considered beautiful, and women go to special camps to be "fattened up" before marriage.

Not to mention just plain old information sources, like:

NotMilk.Com

This here is one of those life changers. Simply read about the amount of puss cells per unit for each State in the Union, that's enough to make you want to shave off your milk mustache! I don't drink milk anymore, nor do I use it for cooking, except in very small amounts after boiling.

MadCowBoy.Com

This is another one. This guy was a rancher, that doesn't eat beef anymore. He has quite a piece to say about what is given to the average "healthy" cow. I havn't had beef for about two months... for the first time in my life. I do miss it, but, I don't think I can responsibly feed my children this crud.

My point is that there is much information of which you will never wake up to, unless you go out and look. It certainly ain't gonna come down the ye old TV until it's far to late.

hi all,

Have been catching up with this global threat called the bird flu. It is assuming pandemic proportions and what can be seen is it has reached the EU and shortly proceed to africa and USA .. It basically spreads through the migratory birds and the infected flocks who need to be culled to stop the disease from spreading.
The two popular drugs for bird flu are tamiflu and relenza ..
Where are they available and any idea which one is better.

Drugdelivery.ca is a SCAM!
I bought relansa, told there was a delay, the continually put off until told that I could have a refund.Told to wait for a while and then contact my bank to arrange if it didnt come through.By this time 120 days had past and refund no longer can be forced by Visa.
AFTER 120 DAYS NO REFUND BY VISA.
BE CAREFUL.
