I pulled this post, and moved it as well because although it was off topic for the forum where it was originally posted, I considered it to be inappropriate for children who browse this forum routinely.
This post put me in a very difficult situation indeed. I agreed whole heartedly with its content! Completely agreed! Yet, it was not suitable for the younger viewers of this site. I have now, since the week before last, four children, and their upbringing to me is paramount. I am personally very careful with what I allow them to be exposed to, and when I cannot browse through my own forum and have my oldest daughter sit next to me and read over my shoulder while I do so... we've got problems.
I understand that many parents are not nearly as sensitive with the content that they allow their children to be exposed to, however many are, and either way, I cannot allow posts of a graphic nature such as this one to exist in plain view of young children on this forum, as I personally feel it's wrong to do so.
I want to provide an open area for discourse, and I plan to continue to do so. Since I started this site almost 2 years ago now, I have NEVER had to delete or moderate out a post. The ONLY edits I have ever preformed are to fix typos in links users have posted that were inoperable, so that they preformed as expected my the posters, and the readers.
I could have edited the material, I could have censored the material, I chose to delete the material. I copied the post's content, and have e-mailed it to the user and asked for it to be edited. I am a freedom loving American, and don't wish to see anyone's free speech put to ruin, therefore, I will not edit anothers words with my own, I feel it's wrong.
Also, I realize that such a post, which was very elaborate, and took a lot of thought, and most importantly time, to write out, and format beautifully, cannot simply be 'tossed' or deleted without a copy being made, and again sent to the user via e-mail. I appreciate the time it takes to write a decent post, and trust me this one took some time. I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, I hope that comes through, my point is, I didn't want to just trash someones hard work, it isn't right to do that either. The post was well intentioned, I truly believe that.
Again, I am an advocate of free speech like you wouldn't believe, and this is no exception. So, I look forward to NEVER needing to do this again!
In closing, this site is meta tagged "General audiences" and the big G, in this case, google doesn't look kindly on mis-rated sites.
I neer saw the post but AIDS and a cure for it has always been an intrest of mine i was wondering if i could get a copy sent to my inbox not for repost on another site but for my own viewing pleasure
i understand if you feel it is inappropiate and will not send it but i had to ask
